ADR Comunicazione
2023 – Ongoing

Project Overview
ADR Comunicazione is an agency specialized in communication and marketing, with a strong presence in the sports sector. Aiming to innovate and enhance user experience, they decided to expand their digital offering through the development of the ITALIACANESTRO app.
ITALIACANESTRO is a portal managed by ADR Comunicazione’s field reporters, who constantly update data on regional championships from numerous Italian Committees. The portal publishes results, box scores, and standings in real time, making it a key reference point for young players and their supporters, who regularly consult the information provided.
Previously, ADR Comunicazione managed a website that displayed basketball game results for these amateur teams, but the monetization model relied solely on advertising, and the user experience was not optimized.
For this reason, they turned to us at PurpleSoft to develop a mobile application. With the introduction of the ITALIACANESTRO app, they not only diversified their revenue model but also made it more sustainable through the introduction of different types of subscriptions.
The app has recorded over 57,000 total downloads—33,000 on Google Play Store and 24,000 on Apple App Store—demonstrating its great success among users.

Application Development
The app’s design was handled internally by ADR Comunicazione. However, our contribution was crucial in improving its usability and user experience. We played a central role in the development of the ITALIACANESTRO app, bringing advanced technical expertise to create a high-quality product.
Our contribution covered all the fundamental aspects of the project:
Backend Architecture: We designed a scalable and high-performance backend architecture, which ADR Comunicazione’s internal team implemented under our supervision. This ensured a reliable system capable of handling the high volume of synchronized data.
Responsive and Intuitive Frontend: Our team handled the entire frontend development using Flutter, ensuring a smooth interface optimized for all types of devices.
We introduced innovative features, including:
Full Customization: Users can tailor their experience by selecting regions, teams, championships, or players to follow.
Personalized Push Notifications: Implementation of a notification system that allows users to receive updates based on their preferences for teams and championships.
Subscription Management: Dedicated screens for managing and purchasing subscriptions, designed to simplify the user journey.
To speed up development and ensure advanced functionality, we integrated our proprietary SDKs:
PURPLE.AUTHENTICATION: For secure login via Google and Apple.
PURPLE.NOTIFICATION: To manage personalized push notifications for each user.
The project was developed using modern and robust technologies, including:
Flutter: To ensure a consistent and high-performance user experience across all platforms.
.NET 9: For the backend, providing a solid and scalable foundation.
Microsoft SQL Server: For efficient and secure data management.
Thanks to our approach, ITALIACANESTRO has become a complete and high-performance solution, designed to meet users’ specific needs and optimize growth opportunities for ADR Comunicazione.

Conclusions
ITALIACANESTRO is a perfect example of how a collaborative approach can lead to highly impactful results. The introduction of subscriptions has transformed ADR Comunicazione’s business model, reducing reliance on advertising.
The application has seen high adoption among young players and their supporters. Additionally, synchronization with data provided by ADR field reporters ensures information is always up-to-date and reliable, while customization options and notifications have increased user satisfaction, allowing users to follow specific teams, championships, and players. Thanks to our development expertise and collaboration with the ADR Comunicazione team, we were able to create an app that not only enhances the user experience but also opens new monetization opportunities for the client.
