FIMAP S.p.A., a leading company in professional cleaning solutions, offers a wide range of innovative machinery, designed and manufactured in Italy, to meet the cleaning needs of businesses of all types and sizes, such as hotels, supermarkets, gyms, and more. With a strong international presence and a focus on sustainability, FIMAP stands out for its use of cutting-edge technologies and continuous commitment to research and development.
The company faced a strategic challenge: migrating its ERP system from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. The main objective was to optimize business processes through a more advanced system while preserving the quality and integrity of historical data. Data migration represented a crucial phase of this process, as moving to a new ERP platform requires not only transferring data but also transforming it to comply with the system’s new standards.
We were commissioned by FIMAP to support them in this complex operation. To meet the client’s needs, we used and enhanced a our proprietary software specifically designed to manage data migrations between management systems. Our software allowed us to carry out the migration process with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring reduced completion times and minimal impact on business operations.
Software Development
For this project, we used proprietary software developed for a previous data migration. On this occasion, we further optimized the software to address the specific complexities of migrating ERP data from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA, including advanced features to handle the complexity and volume of the data.
The software, built on SQL Oracle and .NET technologies, proved to be extremely reliable and flexible, allowing us to:
- Automate critical processes such as data normalization and transcoding.
- Ensure consistency and integrity of information throughout the entire migration process.
- Easily integrate customizations requested by the client.
Thanks to this approach, PurpleSoft was able to significantly reduce development time and meet FIMAP’s specific requirements, while minimizing project-related risks.
Data migration
The data migration was managed using a structured methodological approach that ensured the success of the project. The main phases included:
Preliminary Analysis: Identifying project needs and critical issues to define a clear and detailed migration plan.
Data Cleaning and Optimization: Validation, normalization, deduplication, and selective extraction of information to ensure an accurate and reliable data foundation.
Data Transcoding and Transformation: Adapting data to the new standards required by SAP S/4HANA, including reconciliation to ensure consistency and integrity.
Data Reconciliation: A procedure that verifies that historical data has been correctly transferred and transformed, ensuring that every element from the old system is available in the new one with the same integrity and accuracy.
A key element of the project was the close collaboration with SAP consultants, each specialized in a specific area of the system. PurpleSoft played a crucial role as the “glue” between the different operational areas, ensuring process consistency while meeting the project’s technical and timing requirements.
These aspects required continuous monitoring to prevent errors and ensure a smooth, seamless migration.

Thanks to the structured approach and the optimization of our proprietary software, we successfully completed the data migration for FIMAP S.p.A. efficiently and accurately.
